Textile Cafe

Are you looking for a place where you can work on a (sewing) project together with other people (for free)? Or do you want to learn a special technique? You don’t want to pay an amount or being tied for a period of a course? Then the textile cafe is there for you!

Every time there is a workshop on a particular subject. Sometimes it will be very practical, the next time you can be very creative. If you want to work at your own things instead of joining the workshop, it is also a possibility. Feel free to bring your own projects.

Sewing machines are available in the cafe and there is (limited) material available to use for free. You can also bring your own gear and stuff.

For who?
Everyone 16+ from De Hoogte / Selwerderwijken and the rest of the city. (registration isn’t required)

When?
Each first and third Thursday of the month
between 19.30h and 21.30h

Cost?
It's all free, there is material available for free use. If you want to make something specific it’s useful to bring you own materials.

Program Fall 2011

October 6
Opening of the season, making applications. Decorate your bag, or fix a hole in your pants.

November 3
Fantasy stuffies. Nice as a gift but way nicer to keep them for yourself.

November 17
Maternity Gifts. Personal gift for a newborn baby.

December 1
Shorten pants. Do you have any pants that are too long? Just bring it.

December 15
Christmas Workshop: Lights. Light up your home with self made candleholders and lanterns.

January 5
Stencil techniques. Bring a garment that you want to stencil on. Or just take a piece of fabric.

January 19
Book covers. Make a nice cover for a book.
